Aditya Thackeray, President of Yuva Sena -youth wing of the Shiv Sena visited ISME on 29th July, 2019. His first book of poems, 'My Thoughts in White and Black', was published in 2007. He came to the ISDI campus for a fire side chat with the students and appealed to them to work towards developing innovative solutions for urban and rural issues to better standards of living for our population. He encouraged students to submit proposals that could help the government in framing polices and even invited the students to collaborate with him and his political party to solve developmental issues our country is facing.
Mr. Jared Grusd, Chief Strategy Officer of Snapchat delivered a talk to ISME students on July 31. He is a professor at Columbia Business School and is well informed of the functioning of a business school. He spoke of the world class infrastructures that ISME and ISDI possess and how students must take advantage of it. J Jared spoke of how Snapchat has virtually no competitors even though there has been an abrupt increase of Instagram users. He discussed the independence of Snapchat in comparison to other social media applications.
Dr. Mihir Dilip Kalarnbi is a PhD in Commerce and Management from University of Mumbai. He has presented around 25 research papers and articles at National and International Conferences. He came to ISME for a master class for PGDM students and talked about Communication as the main topic. He stressed on the choice of words play an important role in the effectiveness of communication.
"The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war". A thought that instilled an idea of having the right attitude to enter the corporate sector. On 6th August 2019, students at ISME met Mr. Sanjay Shetty (Head of Sales & Strategy at Randstad India). He explained corporate job dynamics, essential skills required in the sector and he further reflected on his experiences in the industry. His talk revolved around 3 main ideas, understanding different job creating sectors, skill sets required in these sectors and common skill sets that are essential for any candidate. He also covered crucial aspects of understanding the corporate cultures like punctuality.
The students of ISME had the privilege to have Dr. Rebecca Biggins amongst their midst. Dr. Rebecca Biggins is the Director of Marketing and External Engagement at York Business School. She is a lecturer in Management at York St. John University. She is also working on her PhD which is based on the marketing of heritage tourism destinations and stakeholder dynamics under the University of Leeds. She conducted a 5-day Certificate course on "How to design a Research Proposal" with the students.
Harikrishnan Pillai is the CEO at the Small Big Idea. He has vast experience in media and entertainment. He has worked for Zee TV and Reliance Broadcast and helped them set up digital and social structures. He helped them penetrate non -metro markets in Bihar, UP etc. Mr. Pillai emphasizes that innovation must be centered on consumers, their problems, needs and demands.
From the city of Delhi, Mr. Bhandari was an aspiring Chartered Accountant, when a simple dream of air travel made him change tracks and got him working with Shoojit Sircar. Hailed as one of the best in advertising, Mr. Hemant Bhandari is also the director of Badhai Ho. He has had only one mantra- work hard at whatever job you do, because hard work always pays off.
Dr. Longstaff is an Executive Director of The Ethics Centre and was introduced by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas who is the founder of Everyday Ethics Centre. "What ought one do" (Plato, value theory), a thought that instilled the complexity of ethics in 4 simple words. Dr. Simon Longstaff with his examples and experiences made us understand the values and the principles of ethics in everyday life in the simplest of manners. He started off with a fundamental question 'What is the most important human characteristic when it comes to ethics?", while students thought about situation, values and morals, he directed them to the importance of choices. A choice as he said can save humanity or wage wars, a choice can strip one off 7 tour de France titles and ban you from the Australian cricket team.
Dr. Caprar is the Senior Lecturer in the University of Sydney Business School and he spoke about leadership in business. Leadership is the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal. In a business setting, this can mean directing workers and colleagues with a strategy to meet the company's needs. The session on leadership by Dr. Dan Caprar helped students understand that a leader is the inspiration and director of the action. He or she is the person in the group that possesses the combination of personality and leadership skills that makes others want to follow his or her direction.
Chief Information Officer of Mondelez Asia Pacific region, Mr. Sajay Gurbuxani visited ISME. Mondelez is one of the largest snacks company and the owner of the favourite Cadbury.
Vijay Deoraj, Head of Novartis Italy visited ISME and interacted with the students for a brief period. Novartis is a Swiss Multinational pharmaceutical company, global healthcare company that provides solutions to address the evolving needs of patients worldwide.
Vice Chancellor and Head of College Nottingham Trent University, Cillian Ryan came for a session on Distributed Leadership. He spoke about being a manager during an unpredictable scenario. He talked about collaboration instead of control in any team
, Mr. Inir Pinheiro, Managing Director and Co-Founder at Grassroutes came to ISME to introduce the rural immersion program. Grassroutes is a network of hospitality centers located in rural villages that offers tourisits an opportunity to experience the richness of village life while giving the village a new livelihood.
The students of ISDI and ISME celebrated the Independence day by planting one sapling per student.

Students pursuing or having completed a minimum of three-year graduate programs in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/AICTE. Students applying for their final exams can also apply provided they maintain minimum of 50% aggregate marks at the time of graduation as mentioned above.
Candidates must have also appeared for one of the following entrance tests - GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or any state CET tests as per AICTE guidelines.
