Mr. Ram Raghavan, Managing Director, Colgate-Palmolive India visited the ISME campus on 24th January, 2020 to interact with our students and faculty members.
Colgate-Palmolive is a leading multinational consumer products organisation that specializes in the production, distribution and provision of household, health care, personal care and veterinary products. Colgate has been ranked as India’s #1 Most Trusted Oral Care Brand for eight consecutive years from 2011-2018 by Brand Equity’s Most Trusted Brands Survey. Also, for the ninth year in a row in 2019, Colgate has been voted by consumers as the No. 1 Most Trusted Oral Hygiene Brand in TRA’s Brand Trust Report. Colgate-Palmolive (India) today has one of the widest distribution networks in India – a logistical marvel that makes Colgate available in almost 6.1 plus million retail outlets across the country.
A truly insightful session, the discussion streamed from accentuated educational pedagogies to sustainable product innovations that could be adopted by the brand. Our management students from the Postgraduate Diploma in Management at ISME School of Management & Entrepreneurship were audience to corporate-hacks that Colgate-Palmolive India adopted, implementing them at the grassroot level that resulted in impacting thousands of households. Emphasizing on the importance of oral hygiene and marrying the idea with self-confidence and empowerment, Mr. Raghavan spoke about how ‘Colgate’ became a household generic for toothpastes.
Mr. Raghavan also addressed our students & faculty from ISDI School of Design & Innovation on product innovations and branding strategies that Colgate-Palmolive India has adopted in the country. Our students elevated this discussion one step higher by presenting modern, quirky & user-oriented packaging designs for highest grossing Colgate products like Toothpastes. The sustainable designs offered higher brand recall value and consumer mindspace by the usage of environment-friendly materials and interactive packaging to help the brand stand-out when placed at supermarket shelves. Backed by thorough consumer research and production efficiency, the design was much appreciated by the Colgate chief.
While our students had a great learning experience and our faculty had strong industry perspective, the outcome of our long-standing relation with Colgate-Palmolive India will be witnessed in the forthcoming semesters. Our students are scheduled to interact with the senior management of Colgate-Palmolive on several live projects, factory visits and mentorship sessions.
The involvement & perspectives of corporate experts like Mr. Raghavan at ISDI & ISME ensure all-round development of our students and pave the way for greater learning opportunities. Our day definitely ended in smiles, a true Colgate moment!
